Our Mission:
STSI is a family-owned and operated business. In addition, we are committed Christians who believe that the Bible is the divinely-inspired Word of God. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who came to give his life as the payment for the sins of the world. We believe Jesus Christ rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now sits at the right hand of God the Father. We also believe that He will return again to take us home when He raptures his bride, the church.
We are often asked why we display our Christian message so prominently on our web site. Many people think that because of this public display, we won't get any business. Although it is true that some people are offended by our message, there are many customers who appreciate the honesty and integrity that we bring to business. Our long term goal isn't to make a lot of money. Our long term goal is to try to influence society in a positive way, and to bring the gospel message to anyone who wants to hear it. Music:
I have always enjoyed music. This page highlights some covers that I recorded, along with an original song that I wrote and recorded.
Personal Writings:
I have done a little writing over the years, and the following section highlights several of my original works. Perhaps this will give you a further glimpse into my life and my beliefs.
The Seasons of Life
was written during another turbulent period in my life. I felt as if my life was meaningless, and without purpose. I tried to capture an image that I have had in my head for years about the various farm places that I have seen. When someone is young, the farm looks immaculate. As the family ages, the farm looks worse and worse. Finally, the farmer can’t keep up with the work anymore, and the farm reverts back to its original state. (Basically, it turns back into wilderness.) Sometimes, I think people are that way too. Our lives turn back into a barren wilderness.
The Next Fork in the Road
was written to recognize those leaders who make difficult decisions for the people they care about. These decisions are often made only after much agonizing and soul-searching. Many times there is no way to know for sure whether the right decision was made, until much later.
What Does He See That They Don't See?
was written following my own experience regarding decision making. These events made me appreciate the efforts of people in leadership positions.
The Destruction of a Man
was written almost 15 years after my father committed suicide. I think it is true that time heals all wounds, but some things never heal completely.
Into the Arms of Satan
was written after we left a local church because they were so focused on material things, and were preaching totally inaccurate information. This was an extremely frustrating time for me, since I had hoped that we had finally found a church that was interested in finding (and preaching) the truth. Unfortunately, I was wrong.
Where the Rubber Meets the Road
was written because of my frustration with Christians who talk the talk, but don't walk the walk. As you will be able to tell, I am a "fire and brimstone" type of Christian. The bottom line for me is if you are going to be a Christian, then live it. Otherwise, why bother?
There is also a softer side of me that is rarely seen. I am much like my dad in this regard. I have always loved animals, especially those that needed help. I lived on small farms for much of my childhood and caring for animals became part of who I am.
Squirt
is the story of a small kitten that made a brief, but lasting impression on my life.
